Weird World of Water

P and I recently had the opportunity to try out a science kit by Elmers. I'm not talking glue here. They have teamed up with the Discovery Channel show Mythbusters to create fun educational science based activity kits for kids.

We received the Weird World of Water activity kit. It came with several pieces to do several experiments. It even includes a booklet with several myths that your child can prove or "bust". All the parts are reusable. So you can do the experiments over again. As many times as you want.

Our first experiment was to make a mini whirlpool using 2 soda type bottles. The kit came with everything needed for this experiment except the water. P had no trouble doing this himself, although I did supervise and make sure he had everything tightened. I wasn't going to clean up all that water! He was fascinated. For days he played with the whirlpool. Even E was enthralled. It was a little bit difficult for her to manage, but hey its for the big kids, ages 9 and up.

The kit also make a water powered bottle rocket that P just can't wait to try out. Unfortunately that is an outside experiment and our weather just has not cooperated. First it was way too cold to play in water, then it started raining biblical proportions.....again. We still haven't recovered from last months flooding. I am ready to build an ark I tell ya.

Now he is asking for the other kits and for Christmas this year he just may get them. I was really happy with this kit. We had so much fun together. It definitely deserved winning the FamilyFun Magazine 2009 T.O.Y. award and more than worth the price of around $19.99

Thanks to Team Mom for allowing us this opportunity. This kit was provided to me free of charge in exchange for my review.
